tQ Automation, LLC has been awarded a grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) for a Feasibility Study to assess the potential deployment of renewable energy mini-grids to five (5) sites in eastern Indonesia. The results of the study will help PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) assess the economic and technical feasibility for developing a hybrid renewable power plant at these 5 locations. This project supports PLN’s energy transition program to convert over 5000 diesel generators to cleaner energy sources as Indonesia pushes to achieve its green energy targets.

“We are happy to be able to bring our automation, engineering, and renewable energy expertise to support PLN in assessing these 5 sites and facilitating their de-dieselization program,” said tQ Automation Managing Partner, Iqbal Latheef. The 5 sites are in some of Indonesia’s more remote regions and present a particular challenge for energy transition. “Beyond the technical challenges, we are particularly excited for the social impact and positive changes these remote communities will experience when they have access to reliable, clean, 24-hour electricity. It’s a life changer for most of them,” said tQ Automation Managing Partner, Irwan Tantu.

tQ Automation will be partnering with the US Department of Energy’s National Laboratories and PT Atelir Alad Aditama to deliver this project. We thank the USTDA for their generous support and funding for this study.
